Richard Hurdley
has a background as an engineer in the merchant marine and RN Reserve during the Gulf War. He worked as an oil spill specialist at Oil Spill Response Ltd (OSRL) assisting in development of oil spill contingency plans, coordinating internal and external training and exercises and also participating in response to several real incidents. More recently he worked with AGIP KCO’s HSE Group in Kazakhstan. Here he conducted spill risk assessments, developed contingency plans, trained local staff, planned and undertook response exercises, developed operating procedures and managed equipment maintenance programmes and participated as an active member of the response team. He is familiar with HSE and Q management systems and is a certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. He has also undertaken internal ISO 9001 audits AGIP KCO’s quality management systems
