Kim Godfrey
Has a BSc in Environmental Sciences with over 23 years of broad international experience in crisis management, emergency response and security sectors within the maritime and coastal environs. Throughout a broad and fast moving first career he specialised in diving, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and maritime security, developing and directing strategic and operational responses to crises throughout the world. Holding senior appointments within his specialisation he has had notable successes in developing and testing the Oil Spill and Nuclear Accident response organisations for Gibraltar, for developing the anti-terrorist response to underwater attack on UK warships worldwide and UK ports and harbours, safe environmental EOD clearances of former gunnery range and introducing diving incident reporting systems across a broad and diverse organisation. Prior to leaving the Royal Navy Kim had significant high profile appointments included the Strategic Director for the Fleet Diving Squadron, Commanding Officer of a Diving and EOD Group and the MOD Inspector of Diving. He was recognised worldwide as a leading UK military diving and underwater EOD expert who used his broad Naval experience and natural talents to understand the risks before developing and directing cost effective responses to a variety of emergency and crisis situations. Since joining RBA Ltd, Kim has become the natural centre of gravity for contingency planning, emergency response and maritime security. He has developed and introduced several Crisis and Emergency plans for multinational and smaller hydrocarbon oil and gas exploration and production companies including directing their emergency response exercises. Additionally he has investigated and reported on serious security incidents in the Niger Delta, and provided a Nigerian based exploration and production company with an integrated security plan. Kim is an HSE, SAA and BSAC qualified diver.
